Dueling Piano Show to Benefit Round Top Family Library, Historical Society
On Saturday, May 28, there will be a live dueling piano show at The Halles on Hwy 237. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to The Ride to End Alzheimer’s, The Round Top Family Library, and the Round Top Area Historical Society. Guests will be able to sing and dance along to their favorite hits all evening long. Crown Bar from La Grange will be selling cocktails, and there will also be a food truck and silent auction. $60 ticket includes general admission entry, one free signature cocktail and numerous other freebies! Deep in the Paws of Texas
Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter presents their annual fundraiser, “Deep in the Paws of Texas” Saturday, May 21 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Round Top Rifle Hall. The night will consist of a delicious meal, live auction and live music. Single seat tickets are $150, or a table of eight is $1,200. VIP tables are also available. Blood Drive
A blood drive will be held Sunday, May 22 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall from 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Each donor will receive a beach towel. Shelby VFD Fundraiser
Shelby Volunteer Fire Department’s 64th annual fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, May 29 at Harmonie Hall. BBQ Beef and Pork plates are available dine-in or to-go from 11 a.m. until sold out. BBQ by the pound will also be available. A free dance with Crossroads Band starts at 2 p.m. There will also be a silent auction and raffle. Proceeds help the department purchase fire equipment and provide necessary training.
Round Top Family Library
Round Top Family Library is open Monday-Friday from 1:30- 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m. A low-impact strength training class meets Wednesdays at 10 a.m. during May and June. Please bring light weights for this class.
The Kids S.E.E. summer programs will be held in two sessions: June and July. These classes are free and focus on science, cooking, arts and gardening. This program is offered to children entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Class size limited.
Thursday, May 19, local author, Audrey Wick, a women’s fiction/romance novelist who lives in Fayette County and teaches at Blinn College, will be giving a talk about life as a working writer. This is a free program from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
RTFL FYI presents PHI Air Medical Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. PHI Air Medical provides emergency air ambulance transport services to more than 30,000 patients each year. Join them for a helicopter landing at 7 p.m., followed by a talk with the specialized crew. The monthly Senior Citizen gaming party will be Sunday, May 29 from 2-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Round Top- Warrenton VFD
Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department fundraiser is going on now. Purchase your tickets for $20 each and win great prizes. The drawing will be held June 9, you do not need to be present to win. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Tickets may be purchased at Round Top Real Estate, Round Top Service Station, Round Top Mercantile, Round Top Farm & Ranch, PawPaw’s Cafe, Carmine State Bank, Round Top State Bank, Electric Motor Service in La Grange, or from any RT-W VFD firefighter.
Round Top Rifle Hall
The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA. RT-C Young Farmers meeting will be Thursday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. Round Top Mercantile/Farmers Lumber Company will have a program over their merger. Food will be available. Information regarding Pre-K enrollment, Kindergarten Round-Up and new student transfer paperwork is now available on the school’s website at rtcisd.net. The student’s last day of school will be Wednesday, May 25 with a 12 p.m. release.
RT-C School News
The RT-C baseball team earned the title of Bi-District Champions.
The High School band will be performing their spring concert Tuesday, May 17 at Festival Hill starting at 6:30 p.m.
Summer Camp
Fayette County Emergency Medical Services will be hosting a Health Profession Summer Camp for incoming Freshman through Seniors July 18-22. The course will cost $100. Earn certifications in CPR, Stop the Bleed and First Aid, while learning about EMS, Hospital Operations and AIR Evac.
Sons of Hermann
The Round Top Sons of Hermann lodge will meet Thursday, May 26. Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with a meeting start time of 7 p.m. The meeting is held monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month at Quade Werchan American Legion Post 338 Hall located at 1503 N. Hwy. 237.
Round Top Historical Society

Bethlehem Lutheran Bible Study
Thursday, May 5, Bethlehem Lutheran Church Ruth Circle met for bible study. Pastor John David Nedbalek led the discussion of different stories of faith and how different generations have different views and ideas about what is really important. To support the views of cross-generational, an episode of MASH was shown. Julie Wantland served as hostess. The next bible study will be June 2.
