Carolyn Caflisch was finally able to take her eighth grandchild, Marion Goberg on the much anticipated high school graduation trip that had to be postponed due to COVID. Marion is from Harrison, Ark., now attending Mississippi State University.

The Fayette County Record went to the 106th running of the Indy 500. Sam and Diana Wilson from La Grange have been attending the Indy 500 for 20 years with seats directly across from the Pagoda on the start/finish line.

Young at Heart Group to Meet in Winchester

Meetings of Young at Heart are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. at Zilss Hall. Dominoes and cards are played. Please bring a dish to share for a light snack during the afternoon.

Fayette County Day Back at Festival Hill

Round Top Festival Institute is celebrating its 51st season and has set aside Saturday, June 11, as “Fayette County Day at Festival Hill.” Fayette County residents are invited to enjoy a concert on this day at a reduced rate. The special performance will be the Opening Chamber Music Concert of the 2022 Round Top Music Festival, performed in the Festival Concert Hall located at Hwy. 237 and Jaster Rd. just north of Round Top.

Lions Donate to Habitat for Humanity

Bluebonnet Lions President Jeannie Bertsch presented a donation in the amount of $1,500 to Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Kenny Couch which is earmarked for their Senior Living complex. The donation money was raised through the Bluebonnet Lions’ cash raffle held this spring. Also pictured is Lion District Governor Joe Franks and Lion Mayor Jan Dockery.
