Situational Awareness Class Offered in Warda

If you’ve read the newspapers or watched the news lately, you know that crime is on the rise. Even in our small communities one can never be too careful or aware of your surroundings and situation. Officer Tammy Jo McCleney will be in Warda on Sunday, Nov. 6 from 2-5 p.m. teaching her popular Situational Awareness Class.

Ellinger Chamber Chicken Noodle Soup Lunch Oct. 30

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a Chicken Noodle Soup Lunch and Bake Sale on Sunday, Oct. 30. This will be a drive thru event only, and serving gets underway at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $10 a quart or $35 a gallon. Homemade chicken salad sandwiches and delicious deserts will also be available.
Members of the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce participated in the Lickskillet Days Parade on Sunday, Oct. 16. Driving the convertible was Miranda Schlabach and riding with her were Rose Kubena and Reeanna Ramirez.

Winchester BBQ Cook-Off Winners Announced

Twenty-eight barbeque teams descended on Winchester last Friday for the Winchester BBQ Cook-off held at Shorty’s. The teams competed in contests for Best Bloody Mary, Best Jackpot Beans, a Best Open that used Spam, Best Chicken, Best Ribs, and Best Brisket. The winners were Ranchhands: 1st Place Chicken, Sauced Up and Smokin-1st Place Ribs, Safety Third-1st Place Brisket. Reserved grand champion was awarded to the Ranchhands and the Grand Champion award went to Double L Cookers.
Grand Champion was awarded to the Double L Cookers, Lloyd Moreland, Chief Cook by Trish Herzog and Jake Franke.

Holiday Craft Party Nov. 12 in Muldoon

Area ladies are invited to join in the First Annual Ladies Holiday Craft Party on Saturday, Nov. 12. The fun will be happening from 4-7 p.m. at the Muldoon Fellowship Center (formally the Muldoon Methodist Church building).

RT-C ISD Fall Festival Oct. 29

RT-C Parents’ Club is sponsoring the Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the RT-C Elementary School from 5-8 p.m. They are taking pre-orders for Fresh Fajita plates for $15 and hot dogs for $3. Desserts will be available for a donation. Enjoy a kids costume parade, kids carnival, and high school entertainment. There will also be a drawing and silent auction. Everyone is welcome.
