Registration Open for Annual Round Top Lions Club Turkey Trot

Local Events Register now for the Round Top Lions Club 6th Annual Turkey Trot. Participants can chose a 5K, 10K or Fun Run. Visit www. AtheleteGuild.com to register.

The last Wednesday of each month, Blue Mule Winery hosts Red’s Terrific Trivia from 6:308:30 p.m. Come out to win prizes, trophies and make new friends. Teams welcome. A 5K Run & Wine Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 29. The 5K begins at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, and the Wine Festival begins at noon. It will include local artisan booths, live music, and wines from the Wineries of the Texas Independence Wine Trail. To register for the run, visit winerun5k.com.

Dylan Jakobs will perform at Busted Oak Cellars Friday, Oct. 21 from 6-9 p.m., followed by Frank Martin Gilligan on Saturday from 4-7 p.m., and Mitch Maroulier on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. BINGO Night is Friday, Oct. 28. Texas Casual Cottages annual Classic Car Show will be Saturday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. Register your classic car for a $20 fee by calling (979) 337-8239.

Round Top Fall Antiques Show A Heart to Market Popup at Drift & Holler continues through Oct. 22 from 10 a.m.6 p.m. each day. Come see the wide variety of small shops and artisans. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Heart to Market will donate $10 of every purchase to Susan G. Komen.

Come to The Arbors on Oct. 21-22 from 6-9 p.m. for extended shopping hours, a bonfire, live music, and a Halloween costume contest.

Royers Round Top Café and Prisoner Wine Company are hosting a dinner at The Halles Saturday, Oct. 22 from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com.

Texas Casual Cottages on Highway 237 will be hosting a Market Oct. 22-30. Saturday, Oct. 22 the Tré gallery will host a launch party with Autism Rescue Angels. The “Giving Back” event will be from 6-8 p.m. at 105 W. Austin St, Suite B in Round Top. Enjoy champagne and light bites. 100% of profits from ceramic artist pieces created for the organization will be donated.

A Faire Extraordinaire is hosting a seated three-course meal at The Halles on Oct. 23 from 6-9 p.m. Guests will receive one of AFE’s famous signature cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres, followed by a short rib dinner. Tickets are $165 and may be purchased at roundtop.com.

The Big Red Barn Antique Show opens Oct. 24. A VIP opening is from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and general admission entry begins at 1 p.m. They are open daily through Saturday, Oct. 29 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Marburger Farm Antique Show will be Oct. 25-29. The Stone Cellar is hosting the first annual Halloween Party with the Black Cat Choir Saturday, Oct. 29 beginning at 7 p.m. Top prizes will be given for best Halloween costume.

Round Top Rifle Hall The 10th Annual OktoBierFest at the Round Top Rifle Hall will be Saturday, Oct. 22 beginning at noon. Hosted by the Round Top Schützen Verein, this event kicks-off with official Keg Tapping taking place at noon. Join for an afternoon full of quality German biers, delicious Kassler, Wurst and Kraut, and a free concert under the pavillion.

The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m. and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m.

Festival Hill Pianist Viktor Valkov will perform at Festival Hill Saturday, Nov. 5 beginning at 3 p.m. Valkov’s repertoire includes works form C. P. E. Bach, Johannes Brahms and Modest Mussorgsky. Lunch and overnight accommodations are available on campus for this concert weekend. Tickets for Festival Hill’s annual Nutcracker Ballet are for sale on the website. This year’s performance will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 from 4-6 p.m. This year’s production celebrates the 14th annual performance danced by Ovation Ballet Company. Round Top Family Library Round Top Family Library is open Monday-Friday from 1:305:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m. After School Kids Junior Master Gardner (JMG) meets Wednesdays, from 3:30-5:15 p.m. for fourth through sixth grades. Chess Club for ages 7 and up meets on Wednesdays from 4-5:15 p.m. Registration for this class is required. A Situational Awareness class will be held Sunday, Oct. 30 from 2-3 p.m. Reduce your risk of becoming a victim! This class is free and for men and women ages 15 and up. Please bring your picnic blanket or lawn chair. Operation Christmas Child boxes are available at the RTFL and available for pick-up during open hours. Please bring back filled boxes by Nov. 21. RTFL FYI presents Flint Knapping Thursday, Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m. on the Library Annex Porch. Enjoy a demonstration by Round Top’s very own Jerry Hinkel and Ken Ripper. Learn more about this material and others that have been used for millennia to make stone tools and weapons.

Saturday, Nov. 5 the RTFL presents Texas Snakes on the Library Annex Lawn at 10 a.m. Clint Pustejovsky has been studying snakes since he was 5-years old. His motto is “We give snakes the respect they deserve” and he is bringing some snake friends.

Round Top-Carmine ISD Students will have a school holiday Oct. 24. Saturday, Oct. 29 there will be a Fall Festival at the Elementary School from 5-8 p.m. Enjoy a kid’s costume parade, high school entertainment, kids carnival, raffle and silent auction. Fajita plates are $15, hot dogs are $3 and desserts are for a free-will donation. All proceeds benefit students and staff. This event is sponsored by the RTC Parent’s Club.

Historical Society The RTAHS museum has free admission every second Saturday of the month from 1-4 p.m. Take the opportunity to view three historical homes and a historical church. Private tours are welcome.

Hermann Sons Life Hermann Sons Life Lodge 151 will not meet in October. The November meeting will be Nov. 17 and the Christmas party will be Dec. 11.

Church News St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. BLC will be a drop off spot for Operation Christmas Child. Items such as a stuffed animal, ball, or clothing, along with hygiene items and school supplies are great items to include in your shoebox. Please do not include perishable items such as food, toothpaste, scary or war-related items, or breakable items. The boxes will be sent-off at the end of October. St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.

Round Top Christian Fellowship Church holds service at 10 a.m. The City of Refuge Church on 237 in Round Top holds bible study on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. followed by church service at 11 a.m.
