The talented FFA students of Fayetteville ISD competed with four teams at the Area LDE contest last weekend with kids placing in the following: Maribel Carrillo-Fifth place at the first ever Greenhand Creed Speaking Event.

Saturday, Dec. 3 is the 26th Annual Round Top Area Historical Society Christmas Tour of Homes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is your chance to view seven beautiful properties decorated for Christmas. Tickets are still available for purchase the day of tour at the Round Top Historical Campus 397 E. Mill St. (behind the Round Top Post Office) at the RTAHS pavilion. Tickets are $20 each. The St. Nicholas Ministry is providing for needy children, their families and the elderly in Colorado and Fayette Counties needs your assistance. Staff members of churches, public and parochial schools, Texas Department of Human Services, Parents as Teachers, Boys & Girls Club of Champion Valley, Hospice, Senior Citizens, food pantries, and other helping agencies can refer persons or families to the ministry who are legitimately in need. Forms for referral are available at this time. The ministry makes every effort to assist persons who are truly in need.

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Holiday Music Show on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at the Ellinger Community Center. The event will be featuring the Dujka Brothers, D’Vine Testament and Friends, and Zach Kovar. Come enjoy gospel, country, holiday, polka and waltz music from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Admission tickets are $5. Doors will open at 10 a.m. They will also be having a bake sale, raffle, and silent auction. A fried chicken and sausage meal will also be available. You may dine in or drive thru; plates will be $15 and serving begins at 10:30 a.m.

The yuletide season is right around the corner, and the charming little town of Round Top will be aglow. With a population of 99, this Texas gem will transform into the ultimate holiday destination this year. Dubbed A Classic Round Top Christmas, the festivities will kick off Friday, December 2 beginning at 6 p.m. with a ceremonial Town of Round Top Official Holiday Tree Lighting.

The 25th Annual Homes Tour in and around Fayetteville will be held Saturday, December 10th, from Noon to 4 p.m. This annual event is part of Fayetteville’s Country Christmas celebration, highlighted by the annual Lighted Parade around the town’s Historic Square. The day’s activities include the Annual Christmas Tree Display in the Old Fire Station, Christmas Crafts for Children at ARTS and a visit by Santa from 4-8:30 p.m., also in the Old Fire Station. The Fayetteville Community Christmas Choir will sing Christmas carols on the Square at 5 p.m., followed by the fun, and popular, Lighted Parade at 6 p.m. (Every year the folks in Fayetteville light up their floats, bicycles, trucks, ATVs, and even boats to parade around the Town Square.)

The 113th Anniversary of St. Frances of Rome Society No. 31 KZT Family Life of La Grange takes place in November, and on Monday, Nov. 14, the annual social and meeting was held at Sealand Restaurant in La Grange beginning at 4:30 p.m. President Elizabeth Kallus called the meeting to order and led opening prayers for members especially remembering Willa Mae Musgrove who passed away since the last meeting.
