Western Fashion Show at Cisco Village Grows Funds for Festival Hill
The Original Round Top Western Vintage Fashion Show held on March 23 during the Spring Round Top Antique Show at Cisco Village proved to be another successful fundraiser.
Dirty Bohemian hosted its second Western Vintage Fashion Show at The Crown Bar’s Cisco Village location. Guests indulged in freshly prepared tacos and craft cocktails along with live music performed by Pendulum Hearts at the ticketed event benefitting Festival Hill.
Owner Beth Weishuhn gathered pieces from her favorite Western vintage clothing dealers from Warrenton and Round Top for the show.
About 100 people attended, raising around $1,000 for the Round Top Festival Institute. Proceeds from this event will be used to help Festival Hill improve their already amazing gardens and landscaping.
This is the second donation made by The Crown Bar to help the needs of maintaining a 210-acre campus at Festival Hill. A percentage of the ticket sales from the inaugural fashion show were used to purchase a much needed state-of -the-art lawnmower and pole saw.
“We deeply appreciate the local commitment from Beth Weishuhn, Andy Johnson and their associates at The Crown Bar to contribute to our continued year-round service towards the promotion of the arts and education in Fayette County,” said James Dick, Founder of the Round Top Festival Institute.
Other donations from the area, including funds from the Round Top Lions Club, have been used to supply tools, and over one hundred pairs of gloves were donated by Superior Glove for the newly organized Gardens and Grounds program at Festival Hill.
A large group of volunteers have been meeting on scheduled Saturday mornings on the grounds of the Institute where coffee and goodies are provided by Lollitop Sweetshop. A well-earned lunch is provided by The Stone Cellar.
The planning committee led by community volunteer Jamie Lee Manning, Cisco Village special projects manager Paloma Pinedo, Festival Hill horticulturalist Julia Johnson and staff member Pat Johnson have been organizing and making plans for the Gardens and Grounds Service Day.
The garden crew is led by Julia Johnson. Everyone is schooled on poison ivy and what good plants to leave and what to remove such as rag weed and non-native ligustrum. Crews are split into three groups with instruction for tool use, tree trimming and trail building.
The committee is planning another service day on Saturday, May 6, at 9:30 a.m. and is looking for strong hands and backs for more trail clearing and preparing gardens for the spring.
