Cybersafety Program May 9 in Round Top
The Round Top Family Library is open Monday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Yoga is Mondays at 5 p.m., Art After School is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., Chess Club is Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. and Kids Garden is Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Weekly Preschool story time for 3 and 4-year-old children takes place Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Preschoolers will hear an ageappropriate book and participate in activities. The parent or guardian must be present.
Family game night is held every second Saturday of the month from 2 to 5 p.m. Come to the Historic Rummel Haus for board games and lots of fun. Parent or guardian must be present. A light snack and water will be served.
Tuesday, May 9 “Cyber-Safety Essentials: Protecting Our Children from Internet Crime” will be held beginning at 6 p.m. at the Round Top Church on E. Mill Street. Childcare will be provided at the Round Top Family Library beginning at 5 p.m. This is presented in partnership with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Round Top Church Christian Fellowship. Don’t miss out on this incredibly important class.
The monthly Home School Play Date will be Monday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library playground. Meet other homeschooling families and enjoy the day under the oaks.
An adult art class is set for Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The children of participants will have an opportunity to make an art project in art barn during this time as well. Registration required. Call or email the library to sign up.

Deep in the Paws of Texas Homeward Bound presents “Deep in the Paws of Texas,” a fundraiser gala benefiting the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter on Saturday, May 13 at The Big Red Barn. The second annual “Rock the Halls” live dueling piano show is set for Saturday, May 27 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Round Top Dance Hall. 100% of net proceeds benefit the Ride to End Alzeheimer’s, The Round Top Family Library, and the Round Top Area Historical Society. Chamber of Commerce News The monthly Chamber Meeting and Social will be Thursday, May 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Round Top Family Library. Come learn about Chamber updates and fun networking opportunities around the community.

Round Top Rifle Hall
The Monday Night Hamburger Social in May will be Monday, May 8 and May 15. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6 to 8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Town of Round Top
Elections will be held this Saturday, May 6. The offices of three Aldermen will appear on the Round Top ballot. Cast your vote.
Regular Council meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Meetings are held at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizen are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at www.townofroundtop. org at least seventy-two hours prior to the meeting time.
Round Top-Carmine ISD Transfer and enrollment packets for the 2023-2024 school year are now available on the school’s website.
Believe it or not, the school year is winding down. Kindergarten and sixth-grade graduations are set for May 23. Students have an early release on the last day of school, Thursday, May 25.
Historical Society
The RTAHS museum has free admission every second Saturday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. Take the opportunity to view three historic homes and a historic church. Private tours are welcome.

Festival Hill News
Volunteer Service Day will be Saturday, May 6, beginning at 9:30 a.m. After check-in a light breakfast and snacks will be provided, then groups will gear up and get started. Projects typically last until noon, then lunch will be served. To register, visit festivalhill.org.
The Round Top Music Festival opens with Chamber and Orchestral Concerts on June 10. Performers include the young artists in residence, who comprise the Texas Festival Orchestra, and their prominent faculty. Over the six-week period, renowned conductors will lead the orchestra, a different conductor each week. Tickets are available online or by calling the office at (979) 249-3129. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

Hermann Sons Life
The Round Top Lodge 151 monthly meeting was held Thursday, April 27. Linda Mattocks, President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you notes from the RTC Education Foundation and the family of Vernell Noak were read. Linda gave an Agent’s Report. One new member was welcomed. Members are encouraged to support the Bethlehem Lutheran Church fundraiser on May 7, and the Waldeck Church picnic on May 21. Join Hands Day will be the Ledbetter Fire Department fundraiser in October. The Lodge will once again have the Country Store. Members can be thinking about items handmade or planted that they might wish to contribute.
Happy Birthday was sung to Bob Porter, who celebrated on April 12, and Myrt Meinkowsky who’s birthday was April 28. Barnell and LaVerne Albers also celebrated their 61 Anniversary on the 28 of April. Door prizes were won by LaVerne Alvers and Jeanette Hancock. Attendance prizes were won by Ray Ullrich, Max Baranowski, Pearlie Wagner, Linda Mattocks and Barnell Albers. The Meeting was adjourned by motion from Ray Ullrich, seconded by Pearlie Wagner. A meal of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, beans, squash casserole, many different salads, and desserts was enjoyed by all.
The next meeting will be May 25. The new serving committee will be Ted and Margie Stardig, Barton and Lila Garlin, Pearlie and Wayne Wagner and LaVerne Albers.

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. The May monthly mass was held Tuesday, May 2.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m.
The annual Community worship service and Chicken Fry is set for this Sunday, May 7 at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Service under the pavilion begins at 10 a.m. and the meal will be served beginning at 11 a.m.
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. Noisy offering is the third Sunday of each month.
St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.
