St. Rose Class Travels to Zoo
The St. Rose of Lima Catholic School 4K class traveled to the Capital of Texas Zoo in Bastrop. Their Unit 8 Superkids literacy story, The Tug of War, takes place in the jungles of Africa. At the zoo the students were able to get up close and personal to a hippo, a giant tortoise, lions, black leopards and bears to name a few. They also rode a tram ride to feed the animals and enjoyed the petting zoo. The roaming peacocks and prairie dogs were also a big hit. Thank you to the zoo staff for taking time out of their day to allow the students to pet some of the creatures in the reptile exhibit. Pictured (from left) are Sebastian Saucedo, Deacon Heinrich, Sawyer Tindall, Mrs. Jaime Rainosek, Luke Shimek, Harper Wright, Myles Krenek, Brayden Bartosch, Emila Farek, Penelope Machac and Ryker Demel.
