F Arts for Rural Texas presents Plein Air Perspectives: A Texas Trio, featuring the captivating works of Julie Sanderson, Kathy Hammond and Lisette McClung. The exhibition showcases plein air painting inspired by the trio’s adventures across Texas.

Columbus Community Hospital welcomed the first newborn of 2024 when Theo Vavrusa was born Jan. 2 to Dana Benz and Trey Vavrusa of Hallettsville. Dr. Eslam Elhammady and the labor and delivery nurses at CCH delivered the 8.3 lbs. baby boy.

OP News The 19th annual Round Top Family Library Chili Cook-Off will take place this Sunday, Jan. 14.

The Fayette County spring Coyote Control Program begins on Jan. 8, and ends April 30. The contest is being held to give landowners, producers, and sportsmen an opportunity to assist in the control of coyotes in Fayette County. Coyotes cause predation on livestock and result in economic losses to agricultural producers in the county.

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host a Polka show on Monday, Jan. 15 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.

Presley’s Power made a Christmas delivery to Dell Children’s Pediatric Oncology Floor a few days before Christmas. Many snacks, blankets and gift cards were delivered. Presley’s Power appreciates the La Grange Lions club for the snacks and those who have supported Presley’s Power over the years.
