Fayette Community Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications

The Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) is now accepting applications for their 2024-2025 scholarship awards. Applications can be found on the FCF website ( www.faycofoundation.com/ scholarships) or through local high school counselors in Fayette County and the surrounding areas. The Fayette Community Foundation currently offers 10 diverse scholarship opportunities in 2024, all aimed at supporting students pursuing higher education within Fayette County and its surrounding areas.

F The following are updates to some of the City’s activities: • The City received unexpected additional sales tax funding, which allowed for the beautiful courthouse to receive repairs and a fresh coat of paint. • The City has been the recipient of a generous, private gift to help in our courthouse restroom refurbish.

ARTS Presents the Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series

Music has played an important role in the history and personality of Fayetteville, and the historic courthouse and town square have played supporting roles in providing a family-friendly venue for many community and music events over the years. To combine and support the two - live music and the Fayetteville courthouse square - Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) presents the next round in the Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series.

Beard And Moustache Competition Raises $17,500 for The Wellness Council of the Greater Colorado Valley

The third annual “You Matter” Beard and Mustache Competition was held Jan. 20 at the La Grange Casino Hall. $17,500 was raised during the event for The Wellness Council of the Greater Colorado Valley. Hannah Allen, above holding the belt buckle, was named Best in Show at the competition for her creative use of an old pair of jeans-turned-beard. There were 14 different categories at the competition with contestants from all over the U.S. Pictured left with his beard going in all different directions is Jason Schafer of Minnesota.

St. John Hosting SLM Wednesday Service

The next Wednesday service (Feb. 28) will be in Rutersville at St. John beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a soup supper. Service will follow at 6:30 p.m. Lenten offerings will be designated for the AMEN food pantry. The topic for this service is titled God’s Will and My Dreams. All are welcome.
