ARTS Presents the Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series
Music has played an important role in the history and personality of Fayetteville, and the historic courthouse and town square have played supporting roles in providing a family-friendly venue for many community and music events over the years. To combine and support the two - live music and the Fayetteville courthouse square - Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) presents the next round in the Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series.
The Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series features talented singers and musicians and is held every Tuesday evening in March and October from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Fayetteville courthouse lawn. Attendance is free. Event organizer and ARTS Executive Director Sandra Borne explains, “The October shows were really well-received. We’re excited about the shows this March and hope to draw crowds from beyond Fayette County.”
The March series boasts a diverse range of musical genres. Marcus Eldridge will kick off the series with a Texas twang on Tuesday, March 5, followed by the country charm of Robynn Shayne on March 12. March 19 brings an Americana flair with Walt Wilkins and Chris Berardo. Alex Meixner will close the series on March 26 with his energetic polka tunes.
Mayor Mike Stoup adds, “The City of Fayetteville really enjoys these Tuesday night concerts at the courthouse. Not only are the musicians top-notch, but these concerts are a great way to promote Fayetteville and the businesses here in town.”
While the series is free to attend, sponsorships are available. Surplus funds from sponsorships will be presented to the City of Fayetteville at this year’s ArtWalk in May to support the historic courthouse preservation fund. The event is sponsored in part by the Fayette County Record, Fayetteville Propane, and Mary and Evan Quiros.
