Lots of Fayetteville City Projects in the Works
The following are updates to some of the City’s activities:
• The City received unexpected additional sales tax funding, which allowed for the beautiful courthouse to receive repairs and a fresh coat of paint.
• The City has been the recipient of a generous, private gift to help in our courthouse restroom refurbish. Bids are currently being received.
• The third annual Rock ’n Road 100 bicycle ride will be held here on Saturday, March 2. Contributions of $6,000 from previous rides went to The Fayetteville Community Center and to our volunteer fire department (VFD). This year the VFD will be awarded the same amount. For more on the ride, go to https://www. rocknroad100.com.
• The City is receiving a $2.4 million grant and projects have been identified that will improve our infrastructure. This includes water and sewer.
• The City will also begin construction in the next few weeks on an aeration project at the sewer plant made possible by a $350,000 grant from the Community Development Block Grant Program.
