The girls high school basketball playoffs begin this week and lots of local teams are involved. The Lady Leps play Sealy Tuesday at 7 p.m.

“ They were one of the last schools I was in touch with. Great coach.

“ Over Christmas break they reached out to our coaches ... asked me to come for a visit in January. Fell in love with it and that’s where I decided to go. The campus was really pretty. They have a lot of new facilities ... (Being able to play college football ) is something I’ve been dreaming about since I was a little kid.”

The five seniors on the La Grange basketball team filled the starting lineup for the Leps Friday as they smashed Smithville 84-13 in the home finale. “All five of those guys have bought into what we are selling and leaving a really big legacy,” said La Grange head coach Trent Collier, whose team improved to 23-8 overall and 9-0 in district.
