Knapik in Running for LB of Year

La Grange’s Clayton Knapik has been named a semifinalist for the Texas High School Football 4A Linebacker of the Year award from AllState. The senior averaged 7.5 tackles per game.

Flatonia Dominates 13-2A All-District Football Team

After their district title and run to the third round of the playoffs, the accolades keep rolling in for the Flatonia football team. The Bulldogs dominated the 13-2A All-District football awards which were announced this week; Here are the superlative awards as well as the honors for Fayette County athletes from Flatonia and Schulenburg:

Statement-Making Win for Leps

It’s still early in the season, but the La Grange boys basketball team sent a message about just how good they can be with a statement-making 65-46 win over previously unbeaten Wharton Tuesday. Wharton (4-1) came into Tuesday’s game after scoring more than 90 points in back-toback wins.

Fabre Takes LHS Swimming to New Heights

La Grange swimmer Celeine Fabre had herself a meet to remember November 12 in El Campo and made history while doing so. In the 200 yard individual medley event, Fabre broke the school record with a time of 2:59.26. The previous record was set at 3:10.65.

LG Swimmers Make Splash in San Antonio

The La Grange High School Swim team attended the 2022 4A & UnderTISCA South Zone swim meet on November 18 and 19 In San Antonio. Out of the 21 teams in attendance, LHS had 7 relays and 5 individuals qualifying from the prelims on Friday to the finals on Saturday. The girls 200 Yard Medley Relay broke the school record on Friday. Isabella Strever, Bailey Swisher, Campbell Youens and Celeine Fabre swam a 2:14.61, beating the old school record of 2:15.15 Then on Saturday they beat their own record swimming a 2:13.96 placing 4th in the meet. Bailey Swisher also broke the long standing 100 Breast record on Friday during the prelims. She swam a 1:27.99, crushing the old school record of 1:29.14. Baily placed tenth overall in the meet on Saturday. Ben Swisher broke his own school record again that he set at the last meet by swimming a 24.37 in the 50 Free. Ben placed tenth overall in the meet. Campbell Youens swam a 1:11.19 in the 100 fly qualifying to swim in the finals on Saturday where she placed ninth. Gage Mihatsch swam a 1:11.56 in the 100 fly in the finals on Saturday placing fifteenth in the meet. Hunter Sabo swam a 1:21.82 in the 100 Breast qualifying for the finals where he placed sixteenth.
