La Grange Jumpathon Held

Fayette County Helpers held their annual Jump Rope Jumpathon for second graders in La Grange last week. The group visited La Grange Elementary School on Tuesday, March 7, and then Sacred Heart Catholic School on Wednesday, March 8.

Leps 2-2 at Home Tourney

The La Grange baseball team went 2-2 at their home tournament last week. Thursday the Leps beat Yoakum 6-2 and then Whitney 6-5.

Flatonia’s Historic Season Ends in the State Semifinals

SAN ANTONIO – In the cavernous Alamodome, in front of a crowd officially listed at 5,126 people, Flatonia’s greatest boys basketball season ever came to an end Friday with a 66-43 loss to La Rue La Poynor in the 2A state semifinals.

LG Girls Win Flatonia Golf Tourney

The La Grange girls golf team won the title at the Flatonia Tournament last week, shooting a combined 428 to beat out second place Shiner, which shot a 433. Several La Grange girls also medaled individually.

Diggs Continues Blistering Times

Several local teams competed at the Columbus Cardinal Relays Thursday. On the boys side, Hallettsville won the meet with 130.5 points and La Grange was second with 104.

Weimar Sweeps Schulenburg on the Diamond

The Schulenburg baseball team lost to Weimar 3-1 Tuesday in the district opener for both teams. The game was tied 1-1 going into the final inning before Weimar scored two runs.
