1973 State Baseball Champion Leps to Be Honored Thursday

It’s been 50 years since the La Grange High School baseball team won the 1973 state title. Members of that championship team are going to reunite and be honored before Thursday’s 7 p.m. varsity game at La Grange High School against Taylor. The ceremony will begin about 6:45 p.m. The above photo was taken the day the Leps won the title by Warren O. Albrecht.

Lep Sprinters Shine at Texas Relays

At the Texas Relays last week in Austin, La Grange Austen Diggs finished fifth in the boys 100 meter dash, running a 10.64. Winner Will Henderson of Gilmer won with a 10.45.

Lady Leps Roll Past Giddings

The La Grange softball team improved to 3-2 in district with a 14-4 win over Giddings at home Friday. The Lady Leps got three hits from Sarah Kay and two from Avery Marshall, and Alyssa Liccioni was the winning pitcher.

Mihatsch, Westall, Cabrera Earn Soccer Superlatives

Several La Grange boys soccer players earned all district honors. Leps Start District Strong

The start of the season was forgettable for the La Grange baseball team as the Leps began with seven consecutive losses. But the Leps are playing well when it has mattered most.
