La Grange’s East Runs at Texas Relays for U of H

La Grange graduate Trey East III continues to excel on the track team at the University of Houston, and ran last weekend at the Texas Relays in Austin for the Cougars. He was 4th leg and ended the 4x400m relay with a split of 45.79 in the prelims, then a split 45.65 the next day in finals. Earlier this season East won the 200 meter title at the Leonard Hamilton Invitational with a time of 21.19 and was also on the first place 4x400 team at that meet. He was on the second place 4x400 team at the Texas A&M Ted Nelson Invitational and was on the winning 4x400 team at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational. East is a senior.

Fayetteville Wins Battle of Small School Powers

In a battle of two teams that made it to the state tournament last year, the Fayetteville baseball team scored an impressive win Tuesday at Flatonia, beating the Bulldogs 6-2. The victory improves the Lions to 6-2 this season.

Shorthorns Get Key District Win

The Schulenburg baseball team beat Weimar Tuesday 16-4 to improve to 6-9 overall and 3-3 in district. The Shorthorns cranked out 15 hits with Ian Reeves and Aaron Janecek each getting three hits.

Flatonia Jump-a-Thon Winners

Wednesday March 19 Flatonia Elementary 2nd Grade students participated in a jump-a-thon hosted by the Fayette County Helpers, Karen Forest and Jeff Kelly, Jr. The students competed to see who could jump rope the longest.
