Schulenburg Wins Regional Baseball Title

The Schulenburg baseball team keeps finding more and more dramatic ways to win. The Shorthorns (19-13) won the Region IV-2A title and earned a berth in the state semifinals with a thrilling best-of-three series win over Danbury (29-11) Saturday.

Schulenburg (17-12) vs. Danbury (28-9)

Schulenburg’s 2A regional finals best-of-three baseball series against Danbury begins with a double header Thursday, May 22 at 4 p.m. at Cy Creek High School in Houston. 

If necessary, a Game 3 would be Saturday at 7 p.m. back at Cy Creek.

LCRA and the City of Flatonia Donate to Upgrade Sports Field

Flatonia Youth Sports and Events soon will be able to upgrade the multi-sport field at 7-Acre Park, thanks to a $19,805 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of Flatonia. The project includes adding benches, bleachers, a scoreboard and a water fountain to the popular park.

Collier Places Third at Meet Of Champs

La Grange sophomore Macie Collier ran in the Texas Track and Field Coaches Association Meet of Champs earlier this month in San Antonio and placed third in the 300 meter hurdles. The Meet of Champs is an open invitational for public and private high schools of all sizes. In order to be invited you have to be a state champ or run a qualifying time.
