Flatonia Girls Beat Bloomington 88-8

Friday the Flatonia girls basketball team improved to 27-2 overall and 8-0 in district with a 88-8 win over Bloomington. Dani Vinklarek scored 25 points to lead Flatonia.

School Records & District Champion

The Leopards had a historic day in the pool, highlighted by two school records and a district championship. The girls’ 200 medley relay of Lyria Hartley, Adysen Janacek, Elena Supak, and Eleanor Carey placed third while setting a new school record with a time of 2:10.79. Later in the meet, Lyria Hartley broke her own school record in the girls’ 100 backstroke, finishing fourth with a new mark of 1:16.02.
The boys relay team of Rogan Mihatsch (not pictured, but Team Manager Everett Cook is standing in for Rogan as he had to get back for a basketball game), Gavin Cook, Braxton Landis and Van Huette is advancing to regionals.

Leps Bash Caldwell by 29

The Leps basketball team needed a late rally to beat Giddings in the final few seconds Friday. Tuesday no late heroics were needed as the La Grange boys put away Caldwell early and rolled to a 64-35 victory.

Lady Leps Roll, Win 49-9

The La Grange girls basketball team continues to overwhelm district foes – but a huge test looms Friday. On Tuesday the Lady Leps crushed Caldwell 49-9 to improve to 22-8 overall and 4-0 in district this season.

Collier Celebrates Career Win 200

La Grange boys basketball coach Trent Collier really got to enjoy his 200th career win Tuesday. The Leps put the game away early and cruised to a 64-35 victory over Caldwell, and then after the game his family brought out a banner, a big “200” cake and special shirts for the team to mark the occasion.

State Domino Tournament Winners Crowned

What a great day at the Hallettsville Knights of Columbus Hall as the 74th Annual Texas State Championship Straight Domino Tournament wrapped up Sunday at one of the oldest straight domino tournaments in the state.

Fayetteville, RTC Grab Big Wins

• The Fayetteville girls basketball team defeated Calvert Tuesday 60-4 as the Lady Lions improved to 13-13 overall and 7-0 in district. Cambree Denham led Fayetteville in scoring with 20 points.
