Flatonia’s Aaliyah Mendez qualified for the state powerlifting meet with a second place finish at regionals in Robstown. She squated 260 pounds, benched 170 and dead-lifted 260.

LHS Baseball Wins A Pair

The La Grange baseball team grabbed their first two wins of the season at the Anahuac Tournament, beating Hitchcock 7-6 and Bay Area Christian 6-5. They will host the La Grange tournament this weekend.

LG’s McIntyre Makes it to State in Powerlifting

The La Grange girls participated in the Region V Regional Powerlifting meet this past weekend in Edinburg. Contestants included Avery Koehl, Teegan Branch, and Danyelle McIntyre. Avery recorded personal best lifts of 325 in Squat and 185 in Bench Press. Teegan Branch recorded a personal best of 155 in the Bench Press. She placed 8th overall in the meet.

Shorthorn Baseball Improves to 5-1

The Schulenburg baseball team beat Hallettsville Sacred Heart 6-3 Tuesday as Brycen Schramek (left) pitched 6.2 innings of four-hit ball and also had three hits. The Shorthorns now have a 5-1 overall record.

Flatonia Surges to Fourth Round

Playoff Run Ties ‘99 Team as Longest Ever For Bulldogs Hoops Tuesday was a perfect example of how a good team can beat a great player. In front of a standingroom- only crowd in Giddings, the Flatonia boys beat Milano 62-50 in a third round basketball playoff game as the balanced Bulldogs squad overcame an amazing night by Eagle senior Jayce Todd.
