The members of the La Grange baseball state runner-up team from 1983 held a reunion earlier this summer to share memories of their magical season. The Leps carried a 25-5 record into the state tournament and beat Gladewater in the state semis, as Jody Supak and Daniel Tamez combined on the pitching effort and Brent Vasut, Supak and Darrell Moerbe each had two hits.

Flatonia freshman volleyball player Katelin Sullivan has come into her high school tenure already guns blazing. Sullivan is one of the team leaders in kills and assists on a Flatonia team that has started the season with a winning record.

AstheColumbusCardinals arrive at Leps Stadium Friday they will bring with them one of the best quarterbacks in the state. Junior Adam Schobel (6-4, 185-pounds) has already verbally accepted a scholarship offer to play for Baylor. He also has offers from U of H, Oklahoma St. and others. He threw for 2,823 yards and 36 touchdown last season. He is the son of Columbus head coach Matt Schobel, who was a star tight end at TCU and in the NFL.
