The La Grange football team put up some eye-popping stats Friday. But Columbus won the only stat that really counts.

The annual Schulenburg Cross Country Meet was held at the City of Schulenburg Sports Complex on Thursday Aug. 31.

Looking like the state title contender they are, the Schulenburg volleyball team came to La Grange and beat the Lady Leps 22-25, 25-9, 25-16, 25-14 Friday. Jessalyn Gipson led the Lady Horns in kills with 13, Emmrie Marx added 12 and Meredith Magliolo had 10 as the Schulenburg girls improved to 15-12 overall.

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team defeated Giddings Friday 25-15, 25-19, 2523 as the Cubettes improved to 15-6 this season.
