Flatonia football player Cale Janecka was recently named the starting quarterback last week and has proven he’s the right man for the job. In a comeback victory over Falls City last Friday, Janecka led his team to a check mark in the win column with 196 yards passing and two crucial touchdowns in the second half.

For the second week in a row the Flatonia Bulldogs pulled off a thrilling comefrom- behind victory. The Bulldogs rallied from a 14-0 deficit, and with a strong second half beat Falls City 35-28 Friday.

The Freshmen football team traveled Thursday September 14 to Lago Vista to take on their JV team. Despite the age gap the freshmen team powered through to win the game 14-7 and level their record to 2-2. Highlights included 2 TD runs by Dillan Johnson and a pass from Eli Gillium to Dwodney Thompson for a 2 pt. conversion. With a record of 2-2 the Freshmen team will take on Somerville JV team next week on Thursday the 21st.

The Schulenburg Cross Country competed at the Navasota CC Meet last week with the Lady Horns finishing 3rd overall. The Horns finished 10th as a team. The Lady Horns were led by medalists Rudy Rodriguez 5th place and Makena Kopecky 12th.

The La Grange varsity volleyball team went on the road Friday and lost a district match to Taylor 25-22, 25-13, 25-22. The Lady Leps are now 13-19 overall and 1-1 in district.
