Home Run Derby Champs Crowned in Fayetteville as Part of Alumni Assoc. Fundraiser for Ballpark

The Fayetteville Baseball Alumni Association held their annual fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 7, at the SPJST Ball Park in Fayetteville. The event was well attended. The BBQ Cook Off, Home Run Derby and Corn Hole tournament were all a success. All of the proceeds from the event help to support the cost of the field. Last year turf was laid in the infield. This month a brand new safety net will be put up along the 3rd baseline. The safety net was funded with a generous donation from Second Chance. With the continued support from the community, the baseball field can continue to be better and better. Come check it out. Currently 8U and 9U games are being played at the field every weekend, and on Nov. 5, the season will end with a tournament. The Fayetteville Lions will take to the field in the spring and are looking for a return to the State Baseball Tournament at Dell Diamond. So, if you want to see one of the greatest baseball fields in the area stop on by, watch a game and grab a meal at the concession stand. Burgers, hot dogs, Frito pie and much more is served at every game.
Winners of the home run derby left to right: Josh Vitek, Parker Vitek, Kole Schmitt, Dylan Henneke, Ethan Keilers, Jake Schley, Brady Noska and Decker Vitek.
