The La Grange boys basketball team went 3-2 at the Brazos Tournament over the weekend. The Leps beat Yes Prep Northwest, and West Columbia twice, but lost to Liberty and Almeta Crawford.

The Flatonia girls basketball team improved to 13-1 overall by sweeping through four games last week to win their home tourney title. The Lady Bulldogs dominated Bryan St. Joseph’s. Bartlett, Giddings and Smithville on the way to that title. The Lady Dogs are back in action Tuesday at home vs. Bloomington for the district home opener.

The La Grange girls basketball team won all four games they played at the Brazos Tournament Thursday and Saturday to win the tourney title. The Lady Leps swept past Schulenburg, The Village, Gonzales and Weimar.

Sisters Abbie and Allie Uzzell are new to Flatonia High School this year (they are daughters of new FISD teachers) but they are already doing big things on the basketball court. Both are key contributors to the Lady Bulldogs stellar 9-1 start to the season.

Despite a 19-point night from Kylie Trlicek and 14 from Campbell Cooper, the La Grange girls basketball team lost at home Tuesday to Cornerstone Christian 76-51. The loss drops the Lady Leps’ overall record to 8-7 as they prepare to play at the Brazos Tournament this weekend.

Round Top-Carmine High School will be having a ceremony to present the varsity volleyball team their state semifinalist trophy and medals on Friday, Dec. 13 starting at 7 p.m. at the Round Top-Carmine High School Gym. This event is open to the public.
