A historic season for the Schulenburg volleyball team ended Wednesday in Garland with a four-set loss to Windthorst in the state semifinals. It was the first state tournament berth for Schulenburg volleyball since the 2014 season.

The La Grange boys basketball team stayed undefeated with a 48-28 win over Columbus Saturday. Jaxon Cooper led the way for the Leps with 17 points and Jacob Chovanetz added 10.

The games keep getting bigger and the Flatonia football team keeps getting better. Thursday in Marion, the Bulldogs demolished a good Three Rivers team 56-21 in the second round of the 2A playoffs.

Angelo State University Rams football player Cason Brown of Schulenburg has been named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team for the 2022 season. Twenty-one players from the Angelo State University Rams football team, including Brown of Schulenburg, have been named to the 2022 All-Lone Star Conference Teams following the Rams’ undefeated regular season.

The La Grange High School swim team traveled to El Campo on November 12 for a tri-meet against El Campo and Rosenberg Terry. One highlight of the meet was event 5 the girls 200 Yard IM where Celeine Fabre smashed the school record. The old record was 3:10.65 and Celeine swam the 200 IM in a 2:59.26. The rest of the meet results are as follows Girls 200 Medley Relay with Isabella Strever, Bailey Swisher, Madeline Willrich and Celeine Fabre swimming finished 2nd in a time of 2:24.24.
