With the start of district play still weeks away, the La Grange boys basketball team has already built an impressive record this season. Tuesday the Leps led wire-to-wire to beat Lexington 71-48 and improve to 11-4 this season.

Schulenburg boys went 2-2 at the Schulenburg Tournament, beating Hempstead 51-39 and beating Yoakum 56-51, but losing to El Campo 51-41, and losing to Sealy 67-52. Byron Johnson scored a team-high 16 on the win overt Yoakum and 10 in the win over Hempstead. The Shorthorns are 5-5 overall and host Brazos Tuesday.

The Texas high school football championship games are set after a wild weekend of action. Area teams playing for titles include Columbus, Shiner and Ganado, as well as the team that knocked the Leps from the playoffs, Waco La Vega. Here’s the complete schedule:
