La Grange’s season, and with it the high school football careers of 20 seniors, came to an end Thursday as Madisonville overpowered the Leps 41-21 in College Station. “I couldn’t be more proud of our guys.

Jordyn Ponewash, a senior at Flatonia High School and a member of the Flatonia Lady Bulldog Varsity golf team, signed her letter on Wednesday to play golf for Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. Jordyn earned the District Champion title her sophomore and junior years and reached the UIL State Golf Tournament both years.

The La Grange boys basketball team is set to begin its varsity season Tuesday at 5 p.m. at home against Round Top-Carmine.

The past two seasons, the Schulenburg volleyball team has been knocking on the door of the state tournament, only to fall one win short in 2020 and 2021. This year’s Lady Horns broke down the door.

The La Grange High school swim team participated in the Belton ISD November Invitational on November 5th. The LHS Swimmers placed 3rd overall behind two 5A schools scoring a total of 113 points. LHS Swim placed above the two 4A school in attendance.

Two Fayette County volleyball teams are headed to the regional semifinals. In third round playoff matches Tuesday, the Round Top-Carmine Cubettes swept North Zulch in Brenham, while the Schulenburg Lady Horns swept Skidmore-Tynan in Port Lavaca.
