Like snakes? Hate snakes? Scared of snakes? Not sure? Friends of the Weimar Public Library invites you to attend the upcoming program, “Texas Snakes”, on Friday, Jan. 10, at 10:30 a.m.

La Grange senior swimming star Laney Herdler continued her streak of dominance in the 500 freestyle — the grueling event that spans the length of five football fields. Breaking her own record for the 5th time this season at the El Campo meet, Laney shaved an incredible 4.13 seconds off her previous best, setting the new school record at 7:09.06.

Schulenburg hosted the Boys Christmas Basketball Tournament on Dec. 27-28. The Varsity Boys won two games and lost two games, finishing in third place. The JV Boys won three games and lost one, finishing in second place. The freshmen boys won two games and lost one, finishing in second place.

The Flatonia Lady Bulldogs faced off against Tatum to open the Tenaha Holiday Classic Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 26. They lost 62-63 in overtime. The Lady Dogs played Huntington the next day and won 61-36 before losing to Tenaha 36-48.

The Lady Leps went 4-0 to win gold at the Weimar Holiday Tournament on Dec. 26-27.

Several Flatonia football players were honored on the 15-2A all-district team released last week. Here are those honorees: 1st Team Utility Player Beck Zimmerman Sr.

Schulenburg Shorthorns were all over the 15-2A alldistrict football team which was released last week. Here are the Shorthorn honorees: First Team Punter and Kicker – Brycen Schramek, Sr.

The La Grange High School Swim Team competed in the El Campo Invitational Swim Meet on December 14th, showcasing their dedication and talent against 15 other teams. The LHS girls’ team placed an impressive 2nd overall with 280 points, just 4 points shy of the top spot, while the boys secured 5th place with 169 points. Combined, the team finished 3rd overall for the meet—a remarkable achievement.
