Tulsa Commit Johnson’s Ready to Return
La Grange senior quarterback Matthew Johnson said he is planning to return to action this week against Lago Vista, the first time he’s been back in a game since the opening minutes of the season opener when he suffered a concussion.
“Last week I watched the game at home, that one hurt,” said Johnson. “I’m ready.”
“Kids have stepped up and done a good job in his absence,” La Grange head coach Matt Kates. “It’s a good problem to have, one ball and a lot of guys to get the ball to.”
Earlier this season, Johnson verbally accepted a scholarship offer to play football for the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.
“I had a good visit up there last year and I liked it. They are up and coming, feels like home up there,” Johnson said.
