State Tournament Notes

• La Grange-native Theresa Urbanovsky and the Converse Judson softball team she is the head coach of, won their state semifinal 6-2 over Rockwall last week, but fell 1-0 in the state title game last Saturday to Deer Park.

• La Grange High School graduates Chad Koehl is the longtime head baseball coach at Smithson Valley and had led his team to its first state baseball tournament appearance since 2005 this season. Koehl’s Rangers are 35-5 and play in the 6A semifinals Friday at 7 p.m. against Rockwall Heath.
