Softball Roundup: LG, FHS Rolling

The La Grange softball team has improved its overall record to 9-3 after going 3-2 at the Buda tournament last week.

The Lady Leps beat Austin McNeil 23-2 with Marissa Gonzales as the winning pitcher and Abigail Dela Rosa cranking a homer and driving in five.

La Grange then beat Pflugerville Weiss 9-4 with Dela Rosa pitching a complete game and Natalie Blackwell hitting a double and a triple.

Friday the Lady Leps lost to Hays 4-1 with Dela Rosa pitching and Kailee Jones collecting three of La Grange’s five hits. Also that day La Grange lost to Fredericksburg 9-3. Abigail Dela Rosa had a triple.

Saturday La Grange pounded McCallum 14-1. Jones had a double and a homer and drove in five. Blackwell had three hits including a homer.

The Lady Leps host Navasota Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Flatonia

The Flatonia softball team continues to stay hot, as they have a 8-1-1 overall record. Thursday the Lady Bulldogs beat Yoakum 6-2 and Edna 8-2. Saturday Flatonia lost it’s first game of the season 10-0 to Episcopal and then tied Second Baptist 2-2.

Schulenburg

The Schulenburg softball team hosted its home tournament last week beating Edna 11-1 and splitting a pair of games against Karnes City. The Lady Horns have a 3-4 overall record.
