Schobel Helps Round Top-Carmine March Onward in Baseball Playoffs

Round Top-Carmine baseball player Hunter Schobel recently performed on the mound in ways that would save the Cubs’ season. Round Top-Carmine defeated Richards High School in a tiebreaker match by a score of 2-1 just to get into the playoffs. This was followed by a dominating performance against High Island with a 17-7 final score to advance to the second round.

“Hunter’s always been a good player for us,” said Round Top-Carmine assistant baseball coach Brock Marburger. “Especially this year, he’s taken it to another level. In the tiebreaker game against Richards, he came in relief and really shut Richards down and gave us a chance to win and ultimately make the playoffs. Then he kind of did the same thing in our first round game. He came in relief and shut down High Island and gave us a chance to win.”

Schobel’s clutch performances at the bump have made him our choice for this edition’s Athlete of the Week.
