Runoff Results: Regional/State Races

Fayette County election results from the May 24 runoff largely mirrored the rest of the State. Stan Kitzman defeated incumbent Phil Stephenson in the State House District 85 Republican runoff. Kitzman will face Democrat Larry Baggett and Libertarian Michael Miller in the November election.

George P. Bush’s run for Attorney General garnered a little more support in Fayette County (43.09%) compared to the rest of the state (32.04%). He still lost the election to incumbent Ken Paxton. Paxton will face Democrat Rochelle Mercedes Garza and Libertarian Mark Ash in the November election.
