In her first collegiate tournament she came out swinging and recorded her first double doubles match with 14 kills and 17 digs. In her final appearance during post season which was at the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament she would close out her freshman season with her fifth double double, recording 10 kills and a 22 digs. Myers earned some other impressive stats during her Lady Lions debut to include #1 on the Team with 49 Aces, #2 on her team with 411 kills. She finished 6th in Conference kills, 8th in Conference Serve Aces and 14th in hitting percentage. Earning Myers a Second Team All Conference, 2019 AVCA NCCAA Division 1 All Regional Team and Second Team All American Honors.

“My freshman year at SAGU was a great learning experience for me spiritually and athletically,” Myers said. “Being part of a team comes with many responsibilities. In my opinion, one of the most important characteristics of a teammate is servant hood. I have learned that it’s not about what I can do as an individual, but as a team. Being a Lady Lion means to pick each other by helping and serving one another. We are one family who shares one heart. I have also learned that I need to develop my mental game along with other physical skills.

“The mentality of a player determines how much success they will have and the same goes for the mentality of the team. I work hard for my teammates and coaches to bring glory to God. A verse I live by is 1 Corinthians 10:31 ‘So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.’ God has given me my abilities and talents and I hope others will see my talents and recognize the God I serve.”
