Only 350 Cyclists Expected to Start One-Day MS Ride Here Saturday

The Texas MS 150 Bike Ride takes place this Saturday, May 1. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which hosts the annual ride to raise money for MS research, significantly scaled-back the two-day annual event to a one-day ride this year due to COVID-19.

Only about 350 riders are expected to depart from La Grange this Saturday. A much larger group will depart from three other locations around Houston. Both groups will meet up at the finish line at Kyle Field in College Station.

The route from La Grange begins at the Fayette County Fairgrounds. The riders will travel north on US 77 a short distance before turning onto FM 2145 towards Nechanitz. They will then head towards Carmine via FM 1291, Waldeck Rd. and Schoenst Rd. From there they will travel into Washington County via SH 458 and Fuchs Road.

Local spectators will probably find the best spots to view the riders in Carmine.
