No. 4-Ranked RT-C Waits

The Round Top-Carmine baseball team (including Ryker Goehring, above) is ranked No. 4 in the state and has a 15-4 record, but has yet to play a postseason game this season. Byes in the first two rounds have the Cubs awaiting the winner of the Fayetteville/Bartlett series this week. Last Thursday the Cubs did play Sacred Heart in a playoff warm-up game and won 10-3. Jacob Polasek and Alex Pieper both had two-hit games and hit doubles. Pieper drove in three runs. Goehring pitched six innings of seven-hit baseball with 12 strikeouts and Pieper pitched a scoreless final inning. Photo by Paul Kipp
