Missy Zoch to Return to Texas Tech for One More Season
Former La Grange star softball pitcher MIssy Zoch (who helped lead the Lady Leps to a pair of state softball titles) has decided to return to Texas Tech for her final collegiate season next year. She is going to graduate in August, but because of the coronavirus, the NCAA has granted college athletes an additional year of eligibility if they so choose, and Zoch announced last Thursday that she will use that extra year. “I am so thankful that the NCAA gave the year of eligibility back that allows me to leave the game on my own terms ... which is not now. After praying so hard, God has led me to the decision to take my 5th year.” Zoch was a two-time All Big East Conference pitcher at DePaul University in Chicago before transferring to Texas Tech as a junior. She led the team in ERA in 2019 and won 18 games. This spring she she played in 10 games before the season was cancelled.
