Mason Muras Wraps Up Pitching Career at Blinn
Mason Muras has finished his college baseball career.
The La Grange High School graduate pitched two years for Blinn College. He begins attending Texas A & M University this fall.
“I was happy with how I played there,” the 6-foot righthander said. “I kind of knew my time was going.”
He had a 2-0 record and 2.35 earned run average in four appearances as a freshman.
He earned a win in his lone college start, which also was his debut and longest outing. He allowed six hits and two earned runs in three and one-third innings. “We had a few guys out,” Muras said. “He (the coach) gave me a shot.”
In his other appearances he was a middle reliever. He earned his second win as the second guy out of the bullpen. He held South Suburban to one hit in a scoreless two and one-third innings.
The past season, he pitched in four games as well, with three of the outings during the final two weeks of the season. He had a 1-1 record and 6.79 ERA.
Blinn carried 16 pitchers, two more than during his first season, so he pitched fewer innings. “We had a lot of guys who were pitching good,” he said.
