Local Softball Players Third at Nationals

The Texas Lady Aces 16-under softball team competed in the 2021 USSSA World Series Open Division in Viera, Florida last week. Playing great teams from all over the country, the small town ladies from (Weimar, La Grange, Bellville, Flatonia, Shiner and Brazos ISDs) brought their “A” game. Great pitching backed up by great defense and timely hitting set the tone early as they went 3-0 in pool play to earn the #1 seed. After losing the second bracket game 2-1 to the eventual champions, they battled back through the losers bracket to bring home 3rd place.
