LG’s Jaden Williams Leads Leps to State Track, Baseball Playoffs

Jaden Williams

La Grange’s Jaden Williams is the athlete a coach would dream for.

Williams plays baseball, basketball, football, and track while earning quality minutes in all sports. He’s also part of the La Grange track 4x200 relay team that is headed to the state meet at University of Texas.

“He’s definitely a special athlete,” said La Grange head baseball coach Robert Barber. “He does it all and he does everything well. Once we got him back from basketball, it kind of took him a little bit of time, which this is a tough sport to just jump in and get going, but once he got going, once he got to work, it’s just taken off for him. He had a lot of success and really had some big hits for us, made some good defensive plays for us, but the most important thing is the kind of teammate he is. He’s a heck of a teammate to all these kids out here and I couldn’t be happier for a kid next week getting to go run in a state track meet as well and represent our school. I think he has a really good opportunity to win himself a gold medal there, him and his teammates. He’s just one of those kids that you really love to have on your team because he’s always upbeat, he’s always positive, and I love the kid to death.”

Williams’ production across the board in many sports has given him the nod for this edition’s Athlete of the Week.
