LG Swimmers Shine at Regionals; Srubar Sets School Record

The La Grange High School swim team participated in the Region V-5A Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 5-6, 2021.

Due to COVID restrictions the girls swam prelims and finals on Feb. 5 and the boys swam both prelims and finals on Feb. 6.

Highlights include:

For the first time since 2018 4 relays placed in the top 16 to be able to swim in the finals.

All 4 relays placed higher than any other relays in the previous seasons.

Aryn Srubar now holds the 100 free school record with a time of 1:08.70.

The La Grange Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay placed 12th with Avery Koehl, Natalie Blackwell, Campbell Youens and Morgan King swimming a prelim time of 2:18.49 and a Finals time of 2:19.98.

The La Grange Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Relay placed 12th with Natalie Blackwell, Aryn Srubar, Riley Youens, Morgan King swimming a prelim time of 2:02.74 and a finals time of 2:03.97.

The La Grange girls 400 Yard Freestyle Relay Placed 13th with Riley Youens, Campbell Youens, Morgan King and Aryn Srubar swimming a prelim time of 4:44.91 and a finals time of 4:48.30.

The La Grange Boys 400 Yard Freestyle Relay Placed 11th with Gage Mihatsch, Benjamin Swisher, Cole Stork and Trey Cunningham swimming a prelim time of 4:26.04 (dropped - 2.64 over district time) with alternate Nathan Canell.

Will Bundick, Benjamin Swisher, Cole Stork and Trey Cunningham swam a finals time 4:17.43 (dropped -5.97 over prelims time).
