LG Grabs Important Volleyball Win Over Lady Hornets

The La Grange volleyball team went to Caldwell Friday and grabbed a important district victory, knocking off the Lady Hornets 26-28, 25-12, 25-16, 25-23.

The Lady Leps improved to 17-22 overall and 5-4 in district.

It was a strong bounceback for La Grange after losing a five-set heartbreaker Tuesday against Taylor.

“The girls came out with a new focus and it showed tonight,” said La Grange head coach Leslie Coltrain.

Kylie Trlicek led the Lady Leps in kills with 17. Carley Ulrich had 16 and Tori Harold had 10.

Haylie Cooper led in digs with 21. Jena Jobb and Mara Colon each had 12 and Phoebe Tucker had 10.

Jobb had three aces. Tucker led in assists with 24 and Trlicek had 23.

Tori Harold and Cara Homer each had two blocks.

In subvarsity action the La Grange JV defeated Caldwell 25-18, 25-14 to improve to 16-9 overall and 7-2 in district.

The La Grange Freshmen defeated Caldwell 25-18, 2520 to improve to 5-2 in district and 13-12 overall.

The JV and Varsity will travel to Austin Achieve on Tuesday, October 17.

District 22-4A volleyball

The Fayetteville volleyball team swept Prairie Lea Friday, winning 25-18, 25-18, 25-14.

Kayme Schley had 13 kills and eight aces for the Lady Lions. Emily Keilers had six aces and seven digs. Marissa Rohde had 18 assists.

Fayetteville is now 15-21 overall and 4-2 in district.
