LG Girls Compete at Regional Powerlifting

Morgan King (Sr.) and Dani McIntyre (Jr.) recently represented La Grange High School at the Region 5 THSWPA regional powerlifting meet at the Bert Ogden arena in Edinburg. There were over 350 lifters across 12 weight classes at the regional meet. Only the top 12 in the region qualify for the regional meet so it was quite the honor to have made it. Morgan lifted a total of 575 between squat, bench and deadlift in the 114 weight class and Danyelle lifted a total of 695 in the 148 class.

“Coach Meng and I enjoyed working with them all year as they worked hard in the weight room all year with a goal in mind to attend this meet. We will miss what impact Morgan had on the program and we are excited for Danyelle’s future moving forward,” said coach Carlos Guevara.

“It has been an amazing experience coaching all of our young ladies this season. We are especially proud of the accomplishments of these two outstanding young women, as they put in a lot of work this season and raised the bar for our women’s powerlifting program,” said coach Jason Meng.
