The final night of the baseball regular season still held a lot of suspense for La Grange. And it all turned out well.

And it all turned out well.

The Leps bashed Austin LBJ on the road 12-0 while at the same time, Giddings lost to Smithville 4-3.

That vaulted the Leps into a tie for the district title with Giddings. Both teams had 8-2 district record. Instead of playing a tiebreaker game to decide playoff seeding, the Leps and Giddings flipped a coin.

Giddings won to take the No. 1 seed, and they will face Salado (13-13), the fourth place finisher in District 19-4A.

Meanwhile, La Grange will now face Burnet (10-13-1), the third place team from District 19-4A.

That is a best-of-three series in Hutto. Game 1 is Thursday at 7 p.m. Game 2 is Friday at 7 p.m. Game 3, if necessary, will be played Saturday at 2 p.m..

In Friday’s win over LBJ, La Grange’s Trenton Barnes continued to impress as he returns from early season injuries. Barnes pitched four scoreless innings Friday striking out 10.

Against LBJ on Tuesday the Leps won by an even wider margin, 17-1.

Kadyn Hall homered, had three hits and drove in three.

Cameron Kruse doubled, had three hits, scored three and drove in two.

Ryder Imhoff tripled, had two hits and drove in two.

Bennett Barber had two hits and scored three runs.

Gunner Jurek had two hits, scored two runs and drove in one.

Brendan Maddox had a hit, scored two and drove in two.

Clay Wolff had a hit and drove in two.

Chase Krnavek and Jaden Williams each had a hit and run scored.

Wolff pitched three scoreless innings, followed by Krnavek, who pitched two innings of one-run relief.
