La Grange Subvarsity Recaps
The Freshmen Leps football team took on Somerville’s JV team Thursday at home and won 43-6. It was a great team effort by the Leps to improve to 3-2 going into the bye week. Touchdowns were scored by Eli Gillium, Dillian Johnson, Dwodney Thompson and Luke Anderson along with 2-pt. conversions from Sterling Walla and Luke Anderson. The Leps now go into their bye week as they prepare for their district schedule.
9/19/23 vs. Cuero 7th Gold
The 7th grade Gold Team lost their game against Cuero 19-6. Hunter Melton started the game off with a big kickoff return that put the Leopards deep in Gobbler territory. The Leps converted that into a touchdown with a touchdown run by Dorian Harrington. The Leps threatened again after completing a pass on fourth and long from Gabriel Freimel to Charles Gunter but were unable to score before the first half expired on the clock. Defensive standouts for the game were Angel Hernandez and Aiden Bennett.
7th Purple
The 7th grade Purple Team was defeated by Cuero 26-0. The offense was led by Tytan Sanders who had several hard runs against the Gobbler defense. Defensively the Leopards were led by Cole Fritz who had a quarterback sack and a big tackle for loss. Liam Darden also had an interception in the end zone to stop a 2 point conversion.
8th Gold
Tied in a home game against Cuero with the final score being 6-6. The scoring for La Grange happened when Colton Prasek caught a 20 yard TD from Roan Willrich. The Defense turned in a solid performance by holding Cuero to only one touchdown on the afternoon. Defensive standouts were Karstedt, Angel and Koether.
8th Purple
Won in dominating fashion against Cuero, with the score ending 26-6. Traiton Broussard, Tristin Ulrich, Skip Holmes, Edric Gants, and the entire offensive line played well offensively. Defensively the Leopards were extremely stingy, allowing no offensive touchdowns on the evening while also scoring two defensive touchdowns. Defensive standouts were Traiton Broussard, Ian Hill, Rowe Price, and Chris Cuevas. Cuero’s lone score of the game came on a kick return in the second half.
