La Grange Launches its First Team Tennis Squad

La Grange High School was approved by District 20 to join their team tennis district and started practices on Aug. 7.

“Although the numbers initially fluctuated and I lost several players to conflicts as we navigate the fall activities schedule, we now have a core of players and am hopeful that we will have a complete roster for district meets,” said Coach Chris Westall. “We played our first district meet on Monday at Little River-Academy (who has been Regional champion the last three years) and it was not pretty (lost 19-0), but we did win some games and everyone played hard and gained valuable experience. We did have to forfeit two matches due to an incomplete roster, so it is still a work in progress.”
