La Grange Junior High Football vs. Smithville from Sept. 5

Standouts on the defense were Gabriel Friemel and Hunter Melton who both had several big play tackles. Special teams standout was Aiden Bennett with a couple of big kick off returns. Offensive standouts were the offensive line consisting of Andrew Spoelstra, Jesus Ibarra, Reece Benford, Rylan Graham, Ryder Brock, Lukas Harkrider, and Sebastian Pimentel.

Smithville 28, LG 7th Purple 18 Lost 28-18 in Smithville in the final seconds to a La Grange fumble followed by a trick play converted by Smithville in the final seconds of the game. Offensive standouts were Tytan Sanders, Giovanni Luna, Graham Adams, and Jeremiah Ferguson. Adams had a great game under center as the team’s quarterback while Luna and Sanders both ran the ball for the majority of the team’s offensive yardage and both scored touchdowns. Ferguson scored a long touchdown on a trick play. Defensive standouts were Javien Franklin and David Raby. Both were responsible for a forced fumble and defensive fumble recovery. Other defensive standouts were Sebastian and Donovan Soto.

LG 8th Gold 38, Smithville 0

Won in a home game against Smithville with the final score being 38-0. The scoring for La Grange started off with a TD run by David Watson. Watson then ran in the 2 pt conversion. Colton Prasek caught a 7 yard TD from Roan Willrich with David Watson completing the 2 pt conversion. The third TD was a 2 yd rush by David Watson with the 2 pt conversion being scored by Eli Greenwood. Roan Willrich then connected with Casen Chowdory for a 40 yd TD completion immediately followed by the 2 pt conversion by Emanuel Angel. The scoring was capped off by a 32 yd TD run by Emanuel Angel with the 2 pt conversion failing. The Defense turned in a solid performance by keeping Smithville out of the endzone for the entire game.

LG 8th Purple 28, Smithville 6

Also won in Leopard stadium against Smithville with the final score being 28-6. The game started off with a bang when Traiton Broussard ran the opening kickoff back for touchdown, and Garland Hart scored the 2 pt conversion to put the Leopards up 8-0. Traiton Broussard then caught a pass from Tristin Ulrich for a 48 yd touchdown with Garland Hart again completing the 2 pt conversion to give the Leopards a 16-0 margin. Smithville was then able to get a score to close the game to 16-6. Tristin Ulrich and Traiton Broussard quickly responded with a 21 yd TD catch that put LaGrange up 22-6 as the 2 pt conversion failed. The game was capped off by Edric Gants rushing 50 yds for a TD, after the 2 pt conversion was no good the final score read 28-6 in favor of the Leopards.
