Konvicka Hurls Perfect Game for Fayetteville
Fayetteville pitcher Chance Konvicka hurled a perfect game Monday in beating Round Top-Carmine 11-0.
Konvicka didn’t allow a hit or even a base runner over five innings and struck out eight.
Meanwhile, his teammates provided more than enough offense. Reid Gross had three hits and three RBIs. Lawson Fritsch had two hits and two RBIs. Jack Schley had two hits and two runs. Travis Gully and Easton Jaeger each scored two runs.
Fayetteville is now 11-6 overall and 10-4 in district and will begin the playoffs next week against Spurger in the best-of-three series.
All games are at Sam Houston State University.
Game 1 is Friday May 5 at 5 p.m.
Game 2 will follow Game
1. Game 3, if necessary, would be Saturday May 6 at 1 p.m.
