Kobe Burton Wins State Silver in Shot Put

On today’s front page we featured the three Fayette County athletes who won gold at the state track meet, but several other local athletes also fared well.

Flatonia’s Kobe Burton was second in the 2A boy shot put with a distance of 51-feet 11.25-inches. He was less than a foot behind champ Praiyer Jones of Marlin.

Burton credited his silver medal performance with “going to practice every day and working hard.”

• Flatonia’s Zach Charanza was 8th in the 2A discus with a throw of 145-feet 7-inches.

• Fayetteville’s Cole Fenhaus was sixth in the 1A boys 3200 meters with a time of 10:28.51

• Fayetteville’s Brody Dooley was fifth in the 1A boys long jump with a leap of 20-feet 4.5-inches.

• Fayetteville’s Jack Schley was fifth in the 1A boys triple jump with a leap of 41-feet, 3-inches.
