Jurecka is Athlete of the Week After Leading Lady Lions to District Title
Fayetteville sophomore basketball player Emma Jurecka had arguably the game of her life last Friday against North Zulch.
Jurecka not only helped her team clinch the district title, she scored 27 points and 14 rebounds while doing so. “She’s kind of like the little energizer bunny,” said Fayetteville head women’s basketball coach Marcus Sodek. “She’s one of the first ones down the floor. She’s one of the smallest people on the floor and she’s rebounding. The big game against North Zulch, we came out, we were pressing, and she had quite a few steals. She ran the floor well. We hit her and she hit the shots. That’s how it worked for her.”
Jurecka’s monstrous performance has awarded her the goahead for this edition’s Player of the Week.
