Juno Qualifies for State Golf Tournament

La Grange’s Grant Juno is headed to the state golf tournament after placing second in the Region III-4A tournament this week at Raven Nest Golf Club in Huntsville.

Juno shot a two-day 158 to grab the silver medal from among the 83 golfers competing. Jack Burke of Little Cypress-Mauriceville ran away with the individual title, shooting a 141.

The La Grange boys were fifth as a team out of 14 squads, shooting a combined 732.

Garrett Gilmore was 16th with a two-day 174. Ben Gerik was 52nd with a 198. Grant Hollek was 62nd with a 202 and Walker Hightower was 80th with a 241.

The La Grange girls are competing at regional Wednesday and Thursday.
